Game On! is a short story I’m serving up on Weekend Writing Warriors for #8Sunday.
A semi-pro football player meets a reserved teacher who intrigues him with an offer to play a sexual game. But Heath is interested in more than her game. In this week’s snippet Jordan decides to take a chance on Heath. His protective nature encourages her to trust.
A smile crept to the corners of her mouth. “Thanks for understanding.”
Her fingers tightened around his.
He brushed her knuckles with the pad of his thumb.
The tender touch sent Jordan’s pulse surging. She wasn’t up for a relationship, but meeting him for a quick meal would merely be considered hospitable to a visitor of the area. “How about lunch sometime?”
“Sunday brunch?” he asked as his eyes searched hers.
