Game On! is my short story I’m serving up on Weekend Writing Warriors for #8Sunday. In this week’s eight, Jordan and Heath, who met recently, are having brunch in a small cafe. He quickly surmises she’s been burned when she questions him about his relationship status. She jokes about how long it’s been since she’s been on a date then makes him guess what she thinks of him thus far.
“Okay, Carnac the Magnificent, tell me what I think of you,” she asked before biting into her spinach quiche.
He pressed his hand against the top of his forehand, to mimic the late night comedian’s gesture, minus the turban and said, “You’re wondering if I’m a jerk, or a stalker, but either is better than the stuffy business types you’ve grown tired of.”
“That’s pretty introspective for…”
“A jock.”
“I was going to say tight end,” she smirked before continuing with, “and a perfect description of yours.”
Whoa, a witty woman who heated his blood. “So, are you interested in any of my other attributes?”
“One part at a time, Mr. Lancaster,” she teased, “I don’t think either one of us is looking for a relationship.”
Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s 8 for Game On! For more fun check out other Weekend Writing Warriors‘ blogs.

I enjoyed the witty banter. They both sound fun. I like the flirtyness that translated in just eight sentences. Nicely done.

How delicious can you get, Dani the rascal? Love the banter and wonder if it’s going to be all talk or what.
