Today’s Weekend Writing Warriors #8Sunday post is entitled Puppy Love. I’m sharing eight sentences from my untitled contemporary romance. While hibernating the winter in a beach house Josh is being paid to remodel, the former K9 handler is befriended by a service puppy in training. Today’s snippet is from the puppy owner’s point of view.
Broad shoulders molded a black hoodie to perfection as the only other person on the beach jogged toward Tori and Sky. A black beanie with Hurley logo rode low at his brows. The slight limp in his gait seemed out of character for his athletic build. His piercing steel, gray eyes squinted as his gaze fell upon her dog.
Sky’s interest on the wind blown seaweed shifted to the approaching stranger and greeted him with a fearless bark before breaking into a run.
“Heel,” she commanded. At the end of the lead, Sky tumbled head first forming a black fur ball causing Tori to laugh.
The man stopped, his lips curling against a day’s growth of beard revealing a bright grin.
Now it;s time to check out the other amazing authors at Weekend Writing Warriors.

You’ve done a great job with details, Dani. It was so easy to see–I was right on the beach with them. Good 8!

Perfect and don’t let it go to your head. The beach, the guy with a limp, the pup and of course, the woman. All elements needed for a delicious bit of romance.
