Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their all so that we can live free. Thank you! And to your families who soldier on. You are not forgotten.
Being raised and continuing to live in a military community has instilled a love and pride for the United States that I don’t believe I would have cultivated elsewhere, even with a Navy veteran father. Every day I see how of our military supports our community and nation as a whole.
As I’ve matured, love for my country has deepened, including my appreciation for those who protect our nation and keep it free. Everywhere in my life there is some who serves. My neighbor is in the army. My friend’s son is being sworn into the Marines this Tuesday. Sadly, the son of one of my high school teachers never came home.
On this Memorial Day weekend, I wish to honor and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. God Bless them and America!
