His rebellious ways had carried him within a hair’s breadth of jail on more than occasion, until Jasper persuaded him to join the army.

After pouring another drink, he sauntered to the living room and sank into a recliner. Seconds later, a pair of creamy globes filled his vision as Dory bent and smacked his cheek with a kiss.

“See you later, stud.”

He wiped a hand over his face. Like hell.
