Game On! An Omission #8Sunday

Game On! is my short story in process that I’m serving up on Weekend Writing Warriors for #8Sunday. A semi-pro football player meets a reserved teacher who intrigues him on their first date with an offer to play a sexual game. In this week’s eight, Jordan introduces Heath to the owner of the small cafe where they are having brunch. Both of them are surprised.

“I’m new to the area,” Heath hedged answering the owner.

“Yep, and the same face I’ve seen on the Tidewater Triton’s website. Read they have you practicing as tight-end,” Reggie said wearing a gold-toothed grin.

Heath froze and glanced to Jordan, who sat across from him round eyed. “A fan of the team, already?” he asked hoping for a diversion.

“I’ve got season tickets and with the strike going on you guys might be the only football this season. Good luck to you, Heath,” Reggie replied and left to place their orders.

Jordan’s deer in the headlights expression morphed into a you lying shit glare.
